5 Quiz Maker Tools to Reel in New Leads

Gathering leads used to be simple. Once upon a time, all it took was asking potential customers to sign up to your mailing list. In the pre-GDPR days, you could even get away with simply buying an existing list of contacts. No more! Enter quiz builder tools.

The problem is, with more competition for quality leads, it has become more important to offer some value to prospective customers. This has led to companies offering free content like eBooks and white papers in exchange for sign-ups.

This is a pretty effective strategy, but there’s still one element missing. You might have a massive list of emails, but you probably don’t know much about your leads. Enter quiz builder tools.

What are Quiz Builder Tools?

Quiz builder tools are platforms which allow you to create quizzes and surveys. The goal is not simply to capture leads, but to gain insights and qualify them.

These are useful tools in their ability to add both value and a certain entertainment factor to your customer acquisition process. This is crucial, as customers will be more willing to give away their information if there’s something in it for them.

At the very least, these tools will offer a number of different formats and question types. They’ll also have some kind of visual customisation options. With that in mind, here’s a quick overview of todays 5 tools.

LeadQuizzes$67 per monthUnlimited monthly leads.Relatively Pricey.
Interact Quiz Builder$17 per monthThere’s a free version.Limited monthly leads.
Leads Hook$29 per monthHigh level of personalisationPricing based on number of impressions.
Thrive Quiz Builder$67 per monthTotally comprehensive tool.More suited to agencies.
FyreBox Quiz Builder$19 per monthThere’s a free version.Limited monthly leads.

Of course, the first thing that stands out is the range of prices. Let’s take a look at what makes each one tick.

Leads Hook

Starting at $29 per month, Leads Hook is a moderately priced quiz builder. It also stands out as the most data driven of the platforms on offer, making it a good fit for online marketers and agencies.

In that vein, what really needs to be noted is the depth of audience segmentation available. You can micro-segments your leads based on just about any conditions you want, as well as integrating this with external audiences with pre-determined blocks of javascript.

There’s also a host of integration options, including major CRM platforms, other marketing tools and social networks. As such, the possibilities for analytics and remarking are basically endless.

Starting form $67 per month, LeadQuizzes is one of the more powerful tools on first glance. While there’s agency license available, the starting plan will allow you to use 5 websites, with no limits on monthly leads.

There’s a wide range of quiz types available, but what I particularly liked was how easy it is to create logic branches. These are predetermined sequences of questions, so the quiz reacts in real time to ask certain questions based on the respondents previous answers.

Helpfully, your subscription also includes URL hosting, so there’s no need to create your own landing pages. Alternatively, you can embed quizzes on your own web pages simply by copying and pasting a little bit of code.

Interact Quiz Builder

Next up, we have the Interact Quiz Builder. Although there’s a free version available, you’ll probably want to step up at least to the $17 per month configuration to access the more advanced features.

Overall, usability is the name of the game here. There’s three types of quiz available; personality, scored and assessment. Impressively though, these feed into over 200 pre-made templates, which can save enormous amounts of time.

In terms of visuals, the editor was something akin to a WYSIWYG format. It doesn’t take much to get your head around, as most of the work is simply dragging and dropping different design elements.

Thrive Quiz Builder

Starting at $67 per month for a single site license, Thrive is one of the priciest of todays quiz builder tools. Because of that, it’s probably more suitable for large companies or agencies. However, if quizzes are going to be the main focus of your marketing, it might be right for you too.

Its MO is creating complex quizzes without any coding knowledge. And right enough, there’s a host of features here that the others can’t offer. Some examples include A/B testing, a WordPress plugin, and personalised content on the results pages.

The visual editor is an absolute breeze too. In particular, the dedicated badge creator makes creating professional looking quizzes and CTAs pretty much effortless.

Fyrebox Quiz Maker

Last up, we have FyreBox Quiz Builder, the second of today’s tools which is available in a free configuration. This limits you to a fairly paltry 5 leads per month though, so you’ll likely need to spend at least $19 per month to really get the most of your quizzes.

Fyrebox is another tool which is mainly based around templates, which can then be edited and optimised to your heart’s desire by filling in a few text boxes and playing with some visual elements. The real beauty is getting up and running quickly and easily.

As far as implementation, the tool will provide you with a single line of code for your finished quiz, which can then be pasted directly into WordPress, Shopify or a number of other major content management systems.

Quiz Builder Tools: Final Thoughts

It’s always difficult to pick a stand-out favourite for single function tools. In a money-is-no-option scenario, I’d probably veer towards Thrive Quiz Builder for both usability and functionality. If you want to develop a marketing funnel though I’d go with Leads Hook. The platform offers you the customisation that will help you land extra leads.
