Unless you’ve got the memory of the Rain Man you’re probably struggling to manage all the passwords in your life. This is a problem and let’s face it a security issue. You don’t want to be resetting your passwords all the time, because you forgot which password you used for what site. What you really need is a password manager.

If you’re managing a website, password management software, like accountancy software or database software, is an essential part of your online toolkit. As a soloprenuer, password management tools will ensure you never have to remember a password again. If you’re managing a team, you can securely share password information with colleagues, without having to reveal your password details.

We shortlisted the six best personal and enterprise password management software on the market. The tools on this list are suitable for entrepreneurs and global businesses. They are all easy to use and offer military-grade encryption. Most offer freemium accounts to get started so you can try before you buy.

Now you know what they cost, read on for the full review of the best password management software on the market.

Dashlane

Dashlane is my favorite password manager. This password management tool goes beyond just saving your passwords. The developers created a system that ranks your security from 0-100. It makes you more aware of security issues, which is great. You can improve your score by taking certain steps, like updating old passwords every month.

The password management software logically builds on this rating system with handy features. My favorite is the ability to automatically update all your passwords with new secure options at the click of a button. Unfortunately, Dashlane is the most expensive password manager. The Pro version for single users costs $39.96 per year per user. The Business Account, which allows you to share passwords with colleagues and is one of the best enterprise password management software solutions, costs $48 a year per user.

LogMeOnce

LogMeOnce has some cool features you don’t get with the other password management software. For example, the developers have saved the input fields for 4,500 popular websites. This pretty much guarantees the software will store all your login information in the correct format. There are also a bunch of integrations to third-party verification apps and it’s got the Dashlane security feature that forces you to update your old passwords to keep your passwords secure.

The password manager has a bunch of unique features. There’s the facial recognition login. The software will take mugshots of anyone trying to hack your account with their camera (and even record the audio with their microphone). You can even do things like remotely lock and wipe the memory of your phone, locate your phone and make the phone ring loudly.

Unfortunately getting an account is a pain. The website copy is all over the place and it’s not clear what you’re buying because the pricing page is a mess. It’s a shame because LogMeOnce is a great product. The Single User Package costs $33 a year per user, which is cheaper than Dashlane, plus it has more features.

Password Boss

Password Boss is an easy to use password manager. The premium version of the software gives you access to things like optional two-step authentication (this means they send an authentication code to your phone). You can also choose where your passwords are stored around the world, which makes you feel like an international spy, or maybe just a computer expert.

In terms of pricing, Password Boss has three premium plans. The Single User Plan costs $30 a year. They also have a Standard and Advanced plan for teams that cost $22 per user per year and $36 per user per year respectively. The Advanced solo and enterprise password management software is feature-rich. It’s a great option for entrepreneurs and businesses

LastPass

LastPass is one of the best online password management software options. Unfortunately, the size of the company has made it a target of hackers. The worst attack happened in 2015 when hackers stole account email addresses, password reminders, and other user information. Serious security flaws in the software were also identified by programmers in 2016 and 2017.

Despite these problems, LastPass is one of the best online password managers on the market. The software UI is intuitive and easy to use, feature-rich and cheap. Pro accounts cost $24 a year for a single user and $48 a year for up to six users with the family account. The Business Plan meanwhile costs $29 per user per year for teams and $48 per user per year for Enterprise.

If you’re running a business with a team, you’ll find that LastPass is one of the better enterprise password management software tools on the market. It’s easy to use, secure, and affordable.

Sticky Password

Sticky Password Pro is one of the best online password managers. You get automatic website login, secure password generation, the ability to access passwords across any device, and a soon to be launched team feature with the software. Everything is secured with 256 Bit AES encryption.

Sticky Password Pro has a two tier pricing plan. The personal plan is free, though there is no backup or password sharing features. The premium version of Password Pro costs $29.99 per year per person. It’s perfect for teams.

Roboform

Roboform was one of the first password management software tools to launch online. It has the simplest pricing model out of all the personal and enterprise password management software options on the list. The starting price for the Pro Plan is $29.95 per user per year for up to 10 users. This goes down to $21.95 per user per year for organizations with 100+ employees.

It is a great password manager with powerful features. Unfortunately, the user interface is in need of a serious update. It currently looks like something that you’d run on Windows ‘98, which compares badly to the smooth iOS-style interface used by some of the other password management software on the list.

Few Final Thoughts

There are a lot of great password managers on this list. The best of the bunch is Dashlane (though they are all good platforms really). It’s got clever features and a good interface, which is basically what you want from your password manager software.
